Procedure after receiving the Certificate of Eligibility

 
  1. The Immigration Office issues a Certificate of Eligibility.
  2. It is sent or handed directly to the applicant.
  3. The applicant takes the Certificate of Eligibility to a nearest Japanese Embassy or Consulate and applies for a visa. The Certificate of Eligibility will be returned at the time of visa issuance.
  4. Upon entering Japan with the visa, present the Certificate of Eligibility at the Immigration.
  5. Complete the alien registration at the municipal office in which you live in. The registration is good for one year and are able to re-apply starting two months prior to the expiration.
  6. Re-entry permit is requirit needs to be extended by re-applying before it expires. Youed when an alien residing in Japan wishes to leave the country temporarily and return during the authorized term of residence. Without the re-entry permit, you will lose the status of residence.
